Flatpak is an excellent format
Definitely my favorite
Agreed. I initially used AUR since native builds tend to work better but after that whole debacle with malware (thankfully I wasn’t affected) I’ve removed all except a select few and just replaced everything I could with flatpaks. Takes a bit of tweaking for some apps but honestly worth it for peace of mind.
I like flatpak but it’s horribly inefficient… I downloaded the steam flatpak and it was 15gb installed!! I don’t think there’s anything better really but damn.
The first couple flatpaks always hurt. They mellow out for me as I add more since most use the same runtimes, but I do agree.
