On August 1, 2023, hackers broke into Gemini North telescope computers. The incident has shutdown observatory operations there and in Chile.

    Is there a common denominator in these observatories? Like what are they/could they detect? What are they observing?

      Most of earths telescopes are radio telescopes. Some work in conjunction with others around the world. So often it’s radio waves but I think they tend to focus on specific bands of the spectrum (ie x-ray etc)
