Raspberry Pi 5 support has been much anticipated in the AlmaLinux community, and today we are very excited to share great news. AlmaLinux now has support for Raspberry Pi 5!
How it all started When I joined the AlmaLinux Community, I had a keen interest in Raspberry Pi images. Raspberry Pi is widely known for its role in teaching computing and programming and is also a favorite among DIY enthusiasts. Living in Japan, where the Raspberry Pi community is exceptionally active, I felt inspired to have a hand in boosting the popularity of AlmaLinux OS.
Oh, this is a welcome update. I’m building out a small Ceph cluster using Raspberry Pi 5s. I planned on using Raspberry Pi OS but this is maybe a better choice for that sort of work.
Interesting! How many Pi 5’s are going into your cluster, and how do you cool them? 🤔
Just four for now. I might offload the manager, mon, and meta daemons to some virtual machines if they can’t handle the load.
I need to buy some fans for them. Or just point a USB fan at them.
Awesome!
We’re cut from the same cloth 👌
