The Debian vote is finalized and they now allow responsible use of AI. Now we see who draws the line where.
To complicate matters, the Linux Kernel has a permissive stance, as does systemd which would seem to disqualify a lot for the never-AI folks.
Where do you stand?


The latest version of Haiku OS (which is AI-free) came out a couple of days ago so I took it for a spin today.
It’s really quite nice. In this release they made a big deal out of finally porting Firefox to Haiku but they’ve had Waterfox for ages and it works better.
How do you like it? Is neither Linux nor BSD, right?
Yes it’s completely it’s own thing from top to bottom. They’ve ported most linux apps and cli tools so it’s not all that foreign.
It’s very quirky, in design and functionality. I think I could grow to love it but it’d take some getting used to first.
