I have a KIA, it is decent but I would love more freedom ans I sont trust that access will remain free. VW is paid now.

I don’t know how well this translates to Europe, but I’ve been pretty happy with Ford. The remote stuff is free and there’s a HACS extension with a lot of controls available.

I’m really annoyed that the majority of HA integrations are run through HACS, which requires a GitHub account…

Every HACS integration can be installed manually by downloading the repo and copying the folder into your instance. HACS is really just a convenience tool

The entirety of Home Assistant is a convenience tool.

HA, taking time to integrate devices, configure those devices, automate those devices, keep updated, and your automations and device settings up to date, then set up within a reverse proxy (which itself requires several steps and care), then getting your family to use everything you have setup just so you can turn the lights when you walk into the room, is anything but ‘convenient’ lol.

It’s a lovely geeky tool, but stepping back and looking at it, that statement is mental :P
