Guarantee it’s scalpers.
And people will pay them $1200, $1500 or more. Crazy, eh? I would not expect scalpers to jump on the more expensive one that fast, but they must know something we don’t.
Let’s try to waste their money and not pay them anything?
I don’t know if it is scalpers. Didn’t Valve institute a system to prevent scalping requiring older accounts and the accounts having to make a purchase within a certain time frame to be eligible or is that just for the controller and Steam Machine?
AFAIK they made a waiting list based on wish lists for the Steam Machine and Steam Frame after the Steam Controller was sold out immediately and scalpers but them up on Ebay for $300 a piece the same day. I assume they haven’t rolled out that system for the Steam Deck sine it’s already out. It’s probably part of the reason they hiked prices that much. Apart from obvious hardware price increases of course. Scalpers or not, the whole situation just stinks. And I’m saying that as someone who doesn’t want a Steam Deck.
That was specifically stated for the Steam Controller, but I wouldn’t be surprised if they extended it to others.
Some gamers have really deep pockets, but most of us don’t.
Yeah. I tried to look but haven’t been able to find something concrete yet.
