This is just another front in the war between religion and reason.
I mean it’s not an easy question to answer is it? How is my ideological position that ‘nigger’ is not acceptable and removing it makes the book suitable for modern readers any different from someone else’s ideological position that, e.g., ‘transgender’ is not acceptable and removing it makes whatever book suitable for modern readers?

I don’t have a huge amount of respect for recruiters having been involved with them on both sides of the hiring process.
It often feels like they treat it like a numbers game - minimise effort by just throwing enough resumes at a job and hoping one will stick and then earn an easy cut. That will earn them more than seriously trying to match candidates with jobs.

The number one thing we contribute to a project is saying to the client (internal or external) “Sure, we can add that feature but it will have an impact on the delivery timeline unless we deprioritise other features. Are you happy for us to extend the deadline? If not, let’s talk about what we can cut from the existing scope in favour of your new feature.”
