Yeah, it’s doable nowadays. There are many guides that can help you pick a distro and then install what you need. If you’re a beginner, usually Linux Mint is the one to go for, unless you have extremely recent hardware

Glad to hear they still exist. Hope they will improve their software store though, I never managed to install updates through it

Zorin right now is based on Ubuntu 20.04 and GNOME 3.36, which are pretty much dated. If his friend has a gaming rig, it would be better to look for a more up to date distro
