The risk is, that you are losing security patches and thats inported if you want your data save from hackers and whatnot 😅

My macbook pro 2012 works super but with windows.
You have a few options:
You can use OPENCORE legacy patcher and this will upgrade to the last MacOS version or You can install windows
I did both on a 12 year old macbook and i must say that windows never worked so smooth on any device i ever owned.
Or
Install a Apple like Linux distro but it will be a “harder” learning curve

I have a se 2022 and I just love the size! I just wish apple keep bringing out iPhones of those sizes every now and then.
