Yea, if we practically look at an annexation of Canada, they’re a federal govt so each province would be wanting statehood realistically. Imagine how many liberal congresspeople we’d be getting.

This is a little over your price point I think, but it hits all the details! My ears don’t do well being pressed on so can definitely say it’s the most comfortable headset I’ve worn. Battery has lasted a while too! Mine is pushing 4 years old and still going very strong.
They taste different and I wouldn’t even really compare. My pallet can’t stand scotch, but corn and rye whiskeys from the US and Canada are great. That doesn’t mean scotch is all trash, I just don’t like the taste.
Probably ranting about how the shadow government is out to get Trump and Elon after they started saving America
English is normally “putting the cart before the horse”. Mind if I ask what country uses ox for such a similar saying? I just like language quirks
Also fuck that guy and good on you for telling him to fuck off with his nonsense.
Or they go right over their head because Trump respects nothing of procedure that doesn’t benefit him, they slow down nothing, and now they’re also complicit
Everyone complaining about this and calling them a coward: Trump and his crimes won’t respect the law now, what makes you think this bureaucrat can obstruct anything? Trump will absolutely go over the heads of anyone refusing his orders.
Better to resign and not be complicit than sit by and let your name be anywhere near this shit.
Who needs satire when you have reality?
Oooohh that was way more obvious in hindsight, don’t know how I didn’t register that it’s a piano. I knew he was a comedian, I just really couldn’t tell what the bit was supposed to be.
Okay I laughed but what the hell is even going on there?
Yea, I’m looking at this but thinking “that’s not happening lol” with my state. I’m in AZ and anyone outside Phoenix is probably driving at least 2 hours just to get there.
For me: 6 hours in a car with 5000ft (1500m) drop/climb just for a protest that’s vaguely “against Project 2025”. I could never justify it.
Anything any .world user says. Tankies in a nutshell. Which will probably get me called liberal, because all of .world is liberal.
ITT: Nobody understands the difference between being prosecuted and convicted.
He should absolutely be prosecuted, he murdered someone. Should he be convicted of this murder? Fuck no, and I actually think a jury might agree with me.
The way they approached Threads is part of why I stuck with LW. Instance location doesn’t matter much to me and why would I go with an option that is more willing to take choice out of my hands?
Corporate or not, it should be my decision to interact with it. Unless it’s Nazis or some shit similar, I can block rather than rely on defederation and being told what to do.
To support this counterpoint, this is exactly the headline my moron coworker would click and MAYBE get corrected in his stance on fluoridated water
Plenty of people probably went “fuck fast food is getting too expensive, better start cooking” and then went to the grocery store, bought less food than they expected, then they also had to motivate to cook at home.
When everyone is getting fucked so hard at the grocery, it’s easier to see why people stick to fast food if they also like the convenience.
I get you’re trying to do, but it’s almost disrespectful to say royalty is made up. Whether their grounds for ruling is still or not. Monarchies have had very, very lasting impacts on the world around us, almost never for the better. Going “Oh hahaha, look at them and their silliness” when many monarchs actively ruined countries, feels a little dismissive.
I usually just blame how autistic Lemmy is. Unironically, the amount of neurodivergent people here is huge and a common trait is focusing on the wrong fuckin details, especially with hypotheticals
He’s a Mennonite, pretty sure they’ve been opposed to what basically counts as modern medicine for a long time. The Old Order ones live similar to the Amish.
