I have the same lenovo and it indeed seems impossible what it can do. I installed linux on it so my mother could use it and I was blown away by the performance

I upgraded to a new iphone some time ago(iphone se2020) but i still miss my old 2016 se. Even compared to some new iphones I would still choose the old one everyday. The software isn’t that much of an issue for most apps
I know this isn’t really a distro or linux. But my 2012 13" runs mac os ventura(mac os 13 iirc) perfectly using opencore legacy patcher. it just takes some time(30sec or so) to boot but after that ot runs rly smooth.
The only low end hardware i have is an old 2012 Macbook and it runs perfectly fine. Mught be because of mac os but i don’t think so. I suspect that the performance problem will be something else and not just firefox
Then it makes sense, thx. I was mistaken and thought this was another(ios) magazine.
Revanced? On iPhone. Please correct me if I’m wrong since I would love to use it
Absolutely, I recently even bought one from 2012 since it was pretty cheap. Upgraded it to ventura using oclp and it works amazingly.
Keep in mind it is the higher tier i5 with ssd and 16gb of ram
Yeah I know, just wanted to make sure nobody takes their unprotected or old gopro to 100ft of depth.
Most modern gopros still need the extra case for deeper depths
They are if i recall correctly(at least the newer ones) waterproof till about 30ft without the extra case and with it till 150ft or so. But the extra case is very thick and sturdy
I don’t hope it will be like this but i would also love to see this concept irl. Seems like something rly interesting
Indeed, I personally consider myself an apple fan but there are definitely things that are bad. People who think apple has done only good and defend them at all time are just imo thr worst.
Good, why should they comprise security. It makes it easier for everyone to hack, not just the government
Rly, thx didn’t know this i thought it came directly with big sur. Then i will probably upgrade to monterey if all my apps support it.
It’s an incredibly easy way to get the osx completely(most of the time) working on older/unsupported macs. Which massively increases the lifespan of a mac
I think that you can’t really compare it to linux since oclp let’s you run OSX. I wouldn’t say that it’s better or worse just different.
Really easy to use and set up. Highly recommend when you have an older mac(my 2012 i5 8gb doing perfectly fine for lighter tasks and normal use)
It’s been pretty much the go to option for unsupported macs since dosdude1 pachter was discontinued.
I myself only use “unsupported” macs I’m fine till oclp(opencore) stops supporting them. Probably when apple drops the last intel mac.
I know, still a big reason i keep some macs on catalina and so
If you want to install linux because it doesn’t support the newest mac os version i would recommend opencore patcher. I use it on my 2013 Macbook pro and it works perfectly fine on ventura(mac os 13) and should work fine on mac os 14
