4e was D&D for people who would rather be playing WoW.

5e is a watered-down anemic shadow of 3.5.

I had a fantastic idea for a pair of D&D characters.

See, the two of them were originally Oath Of Conquest Paladins, but even though their boss is kind of hardass neither of them were ever that devout.

One of them would rather be an Artificer, and spends most of her time building gadgets.

The other, he would rather be a Ranger, spends all his time talking to his animal companion (who isn’t a Raven but uses Raven rules so he speaks one language… but he’s actually a cat).

Despite being the Ranger’s animal companion, the cat would also rather spend his time tinkering…

But they still recite their oath at the start of every major fight.

“To protect the world from devastation…”

As far as other creatures, you would want to look for kidney stones from creatures in unique environments. In most earthly mammals, they’re composed of (mostly) calcium. Look for things that have kidneys, but either don’t have bones as such, or that have bones likely composed of something other than calcium. It would have to be a seriously magical creature, too; something so stuffed full of magic that it literally pees it.

The only thing I can think of off hand that fits all the criteria might be an Aboleth, and you can almost certainly get better components from them.

I don’t mind the ones copying content from Reddit. I came here to get away from Reddit and I don’t really mind seeing the content so long as I’m not giving spez and his fucks any clicks.

I logged out and back in again and that seems to have helped. Not sure if it mattered at all or if the timing was coincidental.

I’m still not clear on why that is, or what the difference is supposed to be. “Liberal” is “left of center” and “conservative” is “right of center”, innit? Help me out here.

Number 4 doesn’t say it has to kill to work.

Have a young person hold it who wants to escape the oppression of youth.

Then I cut myself on it, somewhere mid forearm where it doesn’t hurt as much, and hold it there.

They get “old enough” to be treated like a person, I get back in my prime, everybody wins.

I missed KOTOR when it was current so I’m catching up now.

This is just as useless as requiring people to be a certain age to access your web site. Everybody on the internet was born January 01, 1901 and everybody’s real name is Batman Bin Suparman until proven otherwise.

Also, the last thing we need is even more ways to exclude young people from society. I mean, who looks at young people and thinks “you know what would make this lonely, overworked, overstressed, hyper-regulated cohort better? MORE ISOLATION!” ?
