Thanks for reply. Do those have an .app extension? Where can they be found ?
I stumbled upon a useful website but come to find out its also a web app?!
The domain is .app. So what is cool is I was able to create its own entry in my phones app list by clicking the add to Home Screen button on Firefox.
My question is where can I find a website with lists of these with categories even
I didn’t have much success with search engine queries. Thanks!.
I highly recommend KISS launcher
When paired with the Panels App it is such a nice setup after customizations.
I am so glad that Nova sold to that data mining owner of a company. If they hadn’t I would have still been using Nova and would not have come across KISS launcher.
So fast, so efficient, with a real nice search feature. KISS has brought me great pleasure. Nova I hardly used any of the myriads of features and I was just there for the hype.
Jerboa as a placeholder for Boost. In fact launched the rocket a little bit ago in anticipation.
True but I pair KISS with the Panels App and tuck some widgets into the side bar. Not perfect as I can’t get PowerAmp widget to work. 🙁
Yes but there was very little content and the concept never took off with the major content providers.
At the height of PDA popularity the average person had a separate device for their phone calls. Generally speaking a PDA in 2000 I would consider a portable handheld device with a stylus but didn’t have telephony capabilities.
Today a personal digital assistant the lines have been blurred.
I remember being so happy going into Comp-USA and seeing so many different gadgets that I wanted to buy. It might have been 2000 when I bought my Palm PDA but they had been on the decline a little bit by then. I never hot my $300 out of it that’s for sure.
Regarding Raspberry Pi gonna see if there is a community for it on Lemmy. Maybe that would be part of the Linux discussion.
Yes, TiVo lifetime but it has a s-video cable on it. 😥 Series II I believe
LaserDisc goes back go the early 80’s I didn’t go back that far and I’ve never heard of a Colecovision console before…?
I need to check my processor/motherboard specs to make sure I can set up 3d . Sounds like a blast.
Why isn’t that rule relaxed until an Android App community is robust enough.
If I were to start a community moderator tools would one use if necessary. Definitely don’t want to pay for an app to do that though. Typically have been a compliant participator but not an overlord previously.
So true but the game changers are on the way Boost for Lemmy, Sync, and I think one I am missing. Hundreds of thousands if not several million potential Fediverse users .
These apps asked for preregistration for their upcoming Lemmy versions and some users may be maintaining Reddit until their app is ready . Some I am sure signed up for Lemmy, KBin, etc.and were discouraged and stayed with Reddit.
I am almost certain over the the next several months the user base will increase but will it increase enough to get decent engagement levels on more of the niche communities.
That is the sizeable advantage has at the moment.
Probably so. But then why are Android and Android Apps struggling for engagement? But more randoms, casuals, just a wider overall demographic will be needed for niche communities to become viable.
The communities I mainly communicated in on Reddit either don’t exist, or have paltry engagement here.
This is why I am keeping my Reddit account active to make posts in these forums to invite others over here to build engagement.
On the large subs it was that but so much on niche subs like AndroidApps.
I know what you mean within seconds my post would be downvoted. Its either a downvote bot or a rude moderator. Lemmy is a breath of fresh air.
KISS launcher
Especially when pairing it with the Panels App
KISS has a small footprint is very fast and really makes my smartphone experience super efficient. I toggle minimalistic on, change search engine to Brave/DuckDuckGo, set my six most used apps as favorites which then show as icons at home screen bottom, assign tags to shortcuts such as favorite websites or tools such as compass, barometer, speed meter, distance calculator, etc.
You can have a tag category show up as a window from the bottom right settings menu.
Kiss also has a very effective search component. Literally the only scrolling needed will be doom scrolling on ones favorite social media app.
Widget functionality could be better but can be supplemented by said Panels app.
I have used hundreds of Android Apps since my first smartphone around 10 years ago and KISS is my most favorite of all (open source or regular) due to how its impacted how I use my phone.
