I’m getting pretty old so I have experienced multiple waterfall projects. The comic should be

You want to go to mars You spend 3 months designing a rocket You spend 6 months building a rocket You spend a month testing the rocket and notice there is a critical desing flaw.

You start over again with a new design and work on it for 2 months You spend another 6 months building it You spend 2 months testing

Rocket works fine now, but multiple other companies already have been to Mars, so no need to even go anymore.

Lemmy kind of sucks, that’s why I like it. Reddit to me was like beer and Lemmy is like non alcoholic beer. If stop drinking a non alcoholic beer is fine, but I don’t really need one every day.

That is actually not relevant, it’s whataboutism. The fact that someone does something bad doesn’t give you any right to just make your own rules.

Otherwise you could also say I should kill that friend that drove home after one beer too many, because he could have potentially killed someone.

I don’t really visit reddit anymore, but still end up there sometimes because of a google search. Anyway there is an extension for Firefox Android to always show old Reddit. So you don’t have to log in or install the app.

Musk probably said something like they used a revolutionary new type of stainless steel, designed for spaceX rockets. Have you ever seen rust in space? No because it’s that revolutionary, and we all know space is filled with water and oxygen.

One thing I like is that it runs on Linux, so outlook isn’t an option for me anyway.

I tried other mail clients but most of them don’t work with exchange servers (and 2FA)

I pay for a plugin so I can use Thunderbird with the exchange server (and 2FA) my office has. Best purchase in a long time, I think it’s like a dollar a month or something, pretty cheap.

Too be honest I was fine with seeing an ad every few videos. But at some point it became unskippable ads before , during and after a video.

Also I’d rather wait without ads than wait with ads, like what’s the point?

I was going to say something similar, if you use the play Store you’re about as safe as you use the Apple app Store. They do the same kind of checks. Some apps that are allowed I would not personally install as I consider them spyware (like TikTok or anything by Meta).

You should always be considerate what you Install, if you Install a video call app that needs camera permission fine, if you Install a digital clock app that needs camera permission not fine at all.

I once had a phone with a replaceable battery, headphone jack, IR blaster (so it was also my TV remote) and SD slot.

I feel after this we gained waterproof phones.

(although I only once dropped my phone in water and it was before waterproof phones and it still worked 48 hours later, so I don’t care that much for waterproof phones).

Anyway I feel we just got downhill after this phone, my current pixel has no: headphone jack, IR blaster, SD slot, replaceable battery, etc.

I wonder what would happen when a major smartphone maker would make a phone with all those features again.

About 50% of Apple revenue comes from iPhones. So if an iphone sells less then expected it’s a big impact on the company and stock price. The iPhone 15 was OK, but not innovative or interesting enough for people to ditch the previous one and get a new phone.

Also investors really look at future growth, so when the main product they sell shows signs that the end of growth has been reached they are not happy.

In reality the only thing that has unlimited growth is cancer, I just like to add this…

There are more Android users than Apple users worldwide. Lots of them are not very tech savvy, but they don’t get tricked into installing random apps. You can’t even do that unless you go into settings and enable third-party app installs. I don’t think it’s really a big problem like you think it is
