Had fun with this for a bit, but drops pushed me to ice shards. Just so much more damage to frozen/vulnerable/chill gear than crit chance. And if you’re going to focus on frozen and vulnerable, which is just about required imo, stacking ice shards levels makes the most sense due to its enchantment.

You’re going to need to grind renown anyway. You should have all the skill points in all regions by the time you complete campaign, and that should leave you pretty close to the level 48 required to do capstone.

At lower levels ice armor is more than enough to stand in the middle of packs. Combine with barrier and damage reduction from teleport and you’re pretty tanky for about six seconds. Arc lash has no maximum number of targets and has the most DPS of the basic skills, especially for crit builds. lightning, jump in, arc lash until mana is back, jump out and repeat.

I’m not so sure once you’re running WT4 content. I’m not that far yet.

You don’t need an upfront detailed understanding of everything to get started. Contributing to projects like this is a research project like any other.

Make sure you have the thing that gives a chance to reset defensive skills when you’re hit.

Frost nova is a defensive skill technically. Short circuiting the cooldown is hugely helpful.

About to run WT2 capstone. Started as spark/CB/LS. Underestimated how important vulnerable was. Switched to arc lash chain lightning. Dropped a bunch of shatter and deep freeze legendary and switched to ice shards around 42, and it’s been a breeze since.

I have an instant pot air fryer. They definitely made some attempts. But I imagine they kept trying to be the big mover and shaker and that’s expensive compared to just building a solid trustworthy brand.
