Still sucks that they have to deal with the cost and leaving the country when they did absolutely nothing wrong.

I second the student visa route. It doesn’t get you residency right away and is an expensive strategy, but it gets you out pretty quick. You also become more desirable since you have a higher education from a locally known institution. Currently doing this in New Zealand.
This is actually pretty cool. Originally created due to an email from someone who was mute.
Fuck cancer
Heads up that it’s not the correct email they link when you email them to not agree to their new TOS.

Wow, that’s dirty. The email you need to opt out at is different from what they link. If you don’t respond, you automatically agree to their new TOS which bars you from taking class action against them. Shady af.
You can remap and customise keys to be whatever you want. There’s even auto shift, so if I hold certain key just a bit longer than a regular tap, it will automatically capitalise or whatever the shift + key combo would result in. There are also multiple layers you can easily activate with a press of a button, so the layout is something totally different.

I’ve never gotten an alert and I know I’ve had “exposures” in the past from work emails. Guess it’s time to uninstall…
You could probably use Wise, but why bother.
I was gutted when I had to move on from XP. Bring it back!
I used to have premium for $9.99/mo until I got an email about them raising their rates come December. No thank you.
I do the same thing minus the controller!
I normally toss the steam deck into its case, then put that and all the peripherals into a backpack. But that jsaux bag looks pretty awesome…
It feels like I found a nice mom n pop shop but Walmart and Starbucks are trying to force their way on the same block. I get that you can defederate or block communities you don’t want, but having FB shove their way in this space feels intrusive.
There aren’t hundreds and there aren’t a lot of subs to find the exist elsewhere since it’s still developing and the fediverse boom/exodus of Reddit. There are what lots of communities for specific pics, such as cats, nature, etc.
You can’t really have it be decentralized and expect all to be in one place. :P
Ooh, I see what you’re talking about. There is no centralized “pics” page. Each instance has they’re own rules and communities/magazines. You can subscribe to them, that way you can view and crosspost if you’d like. Just sub the main ones to your instance (Lemmy, kbin, beehaw, shitjustworks), then browse all and sub to others that pop up selling along the way.
Think of it like a huge house (your instance). You can go into each room (community/magazine) and view things easily. But your house can’t view info from other houses until you tell them you want to come over. Once you’re in (subscribed), you can view their stuff from your house too.
I just typed “!pic” and the list populated to autocomplete.
Without adding the instance, you can type pics and just hyperlink it to the address like this: c/pics
I do the same, but through the Humanitarian OpenStreetMap Team. Helps those in need from natural disasters, getting access to vaccines, or whatever else.
Heck yeah
