Did you even read my comment? It’s a 5 digit figure because they translated lazily and that’s how it was written in Chinese.

Because the way they write numbers is generally misunderstood in the west. Wan, the ten thousand character, and Yi, the hundred million character, are typically the crux of translating big numbers like this.
万 (wàn) comes up the most often and is the largest stumbling block for most people learning Mandarin numbers. In English, numbers are usually broken up into chunks of three digits. Because of 万 (wàn), it’s easier to break numbers up into groups of four in Mandarin. In English, we split “twelve thousand” numerically into “12,000” (chunks of three digits). Split it the Chinese way, “1,2000,” and the Chinese reading “一万两千” (one wan and two “thousand” = yīwàn liǎngqiān) makes more sense.
Not saying the figure isn’t exaggerated, but holy shit it’s obvious why it’s translated this way in articles if you look even slightly beyond the surface.
The only vibe I get from you is “15yo who just learned about politics”.
AN: read this user’s comment history lmao
They have Douyin (it’s a carbon copy of tiktok). Rednote released a public statement welcoming US users, no evidence that what this article implies is being considered at all. The evidence is a reddit post. You are responding in agreement to a propaganda rag.
Microsoft didn’t spend multiple decades trying to force their own chargers and ports over universal standards. Not saying any of them are good, but apple is in no way better and has spent years creating contention between consumers. It’s just as likely they sell your tracking data as anyone else, they spend developer time every month making sure their ecosystem is considered better for cultural reasons while being ostensibly worse than competitors for most things. Their phones are generally a year or more behind competitors but they have made-up features that serve no purpose consumers rally around like imessage. They have a tiny sandbox to play in without completely voiding your warranty - Themes instead of real customization. “Blue bubbles”? Are you kidding me? How about allowing any form of tinkering beyond a garden path? How about supporting repair of devices at their actual branded stores? They’re easily up there as one of the worst for consumers at large.
You can bookmark webpages to come back to later and even organize them in trees by category. You can ceeate a playlist of songs from youtube and import it to a service with no ads like piped, then shuffle it. If you’re willing to put up with 30+ open tabs these are much less time consuming than scrolling through the default way it situates tabs, AND there aren’t 30 open tabs sucking your resources.
If you already knew all this, I’m almost sorry.
What do you know about the initiatives barbara bush set up while in the white house?
Idk dude, just googled “id analytics ssn” and I immediately get a page of results of articles from 2012-15. Could probably just add “as someone else” in scholar for the paper
An ID analytics study showed 40 million united states SSN had more than one name associated with them over a decade ago.
Whitepaper from LexisNexis, corporate background check company, explaining avout SSN not being a unique or even really reliable identifier
Anyone able to find the actual published info? The hyperlink in the article leads to another article which also alleges this but also does not provide said documentation. Kind of a low point for NPR to exclusively have other articles in the hyperlinks.
Is this copypasta I’m unfamiliar with
MRI machines do explode and send shrapnel everywhere. Emergency stopping them causes the helium that’s trapped in the part that rotates the magnets to become a gas, then expand as the magnets superheat. In some cases, this causes an understandable explosion.
Seriously happened once already this year https://healthimaging.com/topics/medical-imaging/magnetic-resonance-imaging-mri/mri-explosion-leaves-3-injured-including-2-hospital-staffers , the cop is lucky.
Please think about what you’ve just confirmed about yourself
The july 2017 verizon data leak was made public.
Hey! You can’t read after all! Rember when I explicitly posted that you can sniff packets going to your phone provider and not these companies? You have zero reading comprehension and a bad attitude, and it’s obvious you’re more interested in being right than being correct. If googling unrelated drivel articles to a discussion gets you off, you do you I guess
I asked because it was nonsensical and could have been funny if you were imitating the typical internet child comment but here we are with you making no sense and me disappointed
Is this copypasta
The fact that SSN aren’t singular identifiers has been public knowledge for quite a while. ID analytics has shown in over a decade of studies that some people have multiple SSN attached to their name, while some (over five million) SSN are used by three or more living individuals. If you search “ID analytics SSN” you’ll find loads of articles reporting on this dating back to 2010 and a bit before.
