In the video, the creator (talking about the seasons where they live, in Southern Coastal California) states that instead of saying “spring” and “autumn”, they call both seasons “nice”, because they are indistinguishable. I’m using the same rationale, basically.
Seasons of Lahore, Pakistan (imo):
- Mid-December to February: chilly weather, often between 4-15 degrees Celsius, pretty mild compared to the rest of the year
- March: first spring, plants are noticeably becoming more alive, flowers are blooming, but temperatures are rapidly increasing. Around this time I set my heat pump to cooling mode
- April to July: first part of summer, very dry, heatwaves start to happen. Temperature is around 28-40 degrees usually
- July to early September: second part of summer, around as hot as the first part but monsoons start to happen
- September: second spring, ofc similar to the first but temperatures start to drop.
- Mid-September to November: the smoggy season. Pretty moderate temperatures (10-25 degrees), but there is way too much air pollution. A lot of it is due to farmers burning their stalks around this time. I set my heat pump to heating mode around the latter half of this season

I’m pretty happy using GNOME on my laptop. Never tried KDE in my ~6 years of using Linux, maybe if I install it onto another device I will.

Never heard of Zen, I’m just using vanilla Firefox on my Linux laptop. Will check it out later :)

- Obtainium (auto-updater for apps hosted on GitHub, GitLab, etc.)
- Heliboard (simple keyboard app)

- Iceraven (Firefox fork with a few tweaks)
- Voyager (mobile client for Lemmy, similar to the obsolete Reddit clients Apollo and Slide)

If we can count FOSS modifications of proprietary apps:
- YouTube Revanced (the official YouTube app, but you don’t get ads, you can play videos in the background, you get SponsorBlock, etc.) (follow this guide for auto-updates)
- Vesktop (desktop client for Discord, has Vencord preinstalled and supports Linux screen sharing)
- Prism Launcher (Minecraft: Java Edition launcher that allows you to easily manage different “instances” of the game. Good for playing with different mods and/or versions)
- Fabulously Optimized (modpack for Minecraft: Java Edition, that improves performance and adds some minor QoL features)
addendum: I’d like to use Matrix (via the Element client) and Signal more, but most of the people I know are on Discord and WhatsApp instead.
Resprite doesn’t seem to be open-source when I look it up.
