  • What do illegal jmmigrants do to you? Seriously ask yourself what the impact of these people existing is on your daily life. The folks in this article specifically, came here, got jobs, paid taxes on their wages, and took those wages and contributed to their local economy. How is that any different than me just because I was born here?

They’re willing to do jobs we aren’t because they don’t grow up with the quality of life and/or safety we were lucky enough to get handed just for popping out in the right place. Despite what you’ve been told they commonly are subject to payroll tax. Most of them are desperately trying to obtain paperwork, but our government says no over and over again. The fucking melting pot, right?

You’ve been propagandized to think immigrants did something to you. They didn’t. The end game is going to be you and I shooting at each other in a civil war because the rich people said immigrants are bad. Please wake up. Please everybody wake up.

  • I am a potential employer. Speaking on behalf of only myself, there are two reasons I may feel inclined to rush an applicant. If the unfilled position is causing hardship on operations or other team members (Like having someone having to fill the spot while I search) or if the intended start date falls towards the end of a current pay period. Because if the new hire doesn’t have paperwork done by then it can slow down payroll for all of us.

I learned very quickly not to rush folks out of desperation, but honestly sometimes that does happen. It doesn’t necessarily mean it’s a terrible place to work. In my case our labor market is lacking viable applicants. It can sometimes take weeks or months before finding even a good interview. If I have somebody that hates overnights, but is working them to cover for a recent loss then you bet I will be motivated to fill the spot ASAP. It takes emotional control to make sure that doesn’t turn into rushing the applicant.

These may not apply to your situation, but that’s my two cents.

  • Could you expand on the gun part like what encourages you to go that route? No judgement in either direction. I’m interested because my concern that I would need to be armed stemmed more from if he lost. Since he would have gotten up there and told his base it was cheating and tried to mobilize them towards violence.

I don’t anticipate that kind of violent behavior from the other side, so just curious on your perspective.

  • Welcome to Lemmy. I get where you’re coming from. I run a business and I have had to ask straight and gay couples to tone down their PDA. Sometimes they respond poorly and I have had them downplay what they were doing as if I wasn’t just watching it… Unfortunately letting that kind of thing slide negatively impacts how other customer view my business. I can’t have people groping each other when a family walks in.

To the point of the people not comprehending the full scope of what you’re saying, obviously this situation got violent and that’s uncalled for. Straight or gay violence isn’t the answer.

  • Not really agreeing or disagreeing with any of this, but I feel compelled to say I was interested in GME this time around based on what Mr. Gill stated about them now having a pile of cash on hand. Sounds like a good place to be with some potential. So I figured that was the case last time too right? I didn’t really follow GME the last time this stuff went down. Makes sense they would have ended up sitting on a pile of cash then. Went back and saw how they ended up using THAT cash and waaasss not impressed. To each their own but I think that two billion is going in the toilet.
