No idea for the US but a few years ago South Korea dealt with a similar situation. It was revealed that the president had a friend who was acting as an unpaid, unelected advisor making decisions for the president, seeing classified information, and helping set national policy. They had million person protests in the middle of Seoul that culminated in the impeachment of their president and her removal from office. The advisor was also arrested and sentenced to 20 years or something.

I broke my shoulder and couldn’t do shit for about 4 weeks. I spent that entire time playing Civ 6, freshly released at the time, with the steam controller. It was the best thing in the world for civ. I played that game with one hand 90% of the time since my shoulder would fight me after 5 minutes with 2 hands. And the steam controller made it possible in a way my Xbox controller never has and never will.

If you have a CDL there is a federal database that tracks drug and alcohol offenses that had become mandatory to enroll in for most jobs in the industry.

Why don’t we have something like that for cops?

The thing that most often keeps me from drinking is the need to drive home at the end of the night. I don’t want to kill someone and I didn’t want to lose my job (I drive for work) because I went out to drink. So I drink at home which is not a healthy way to drink. So I don’t drink regularly.

If I didn’t have to drive to work I’d walk more which would put me on the ground, passing more bars and restaurants with the option to pop in for a pint and a bite to eat. Then hop on a tram or underground or light rail and head home full and happy. But we can’t have nice things like that in the US because oil rules or politics.
