It could easily be blood from falling to the ground or even getting jumped on by the secret service, old people bleed easily.
I’d be amazed if that was blood from a gunshot, if it was he missed dying by literally an inch.

It could have been a round that basically took apart his right ear, or took a chunk out of it.
It looks like it’s coming both from his ear and his mouth. I’m guessing the mouth part is from being tackled by the Secret Service.

EDIT: Shooter is dead, but was not in the crowd. Was on a building’s roof outside the event and got obliterated by counter sniper fire.
